Abstract
A theoretical and numerical analysis of complicated
physical models requires a large computing power. One of the ways to obtain
sufficient computational power is to take advantage of the High Performance
Computing (HPC) cluster environment. This paper shows the idea of using such
an infrastructure in the modelling process of some physical phenomena. Three
different issues embracing areas of acoustic field distributions, strip
waveguide light propagation and modelling of planar interferometric
structures are dealt with. Also the infrastructure of the HPC cluster
created in the Department of Optoelectronics of our University is describer.
