Abstract
In this paper we briefly summarize the stripe-QCP scenario and presente some of its consequences in the normal state. Within this scenario, the occurrence of a charge-ordering instability, only hindered by the setting in of a SC phase provides the underlying mechanism ruling the physics of the SC cuprates. In particular, in this paper we examine the formation of the stripe textures observed in these materials at 1/8 filling and report on the main features found in ARPES experiments as a consequence of the scattering between the quasiparticles and the critical charge fluctuations.
