Spin density wave scenario in high-Tc cuprates against the stripes scenario
P. Pfeuty and F. OnufrievaLaboratoire Léon Brillouin, CEA Saclay, France
Abstract
The idea of stripes in the high-Tc cuprates has been advocated Based on the effect of incommensurability observed by inelastic neutron scattering (INS). We show that INS data for both YBCO and LSCO can be readily understood (not only qualitatively but also quantitetively) based on the concept of quantum SDW liquid state appearing in a proximity of the quantum critical point corresponding to electronic topological transition in 2D system. The detailed comparison with INS data show a striking agreement with experiment.
