ptFe3 Invar Studied by High Pressure Magnetic Circular Dichroism

Abstract
High pressure X-ray magnetic circular dichroism has been performed for the first time on PtFe3 at the Pt LIII edge. A phase transition from high spin to low spin state is observed near 4Gpa. Above 20 Gpa the material become non magnetic.
