Abstract
We are proposing a new pumping scheme using a very thin membrane, which has several advantages for effective pumping of soft x-ray laser. Initial electron density and temperature of the plasma from membrane targets were evaluated from soft x-ray spectra. Dependance of pre-pulse duration on production of highly ionized plasma and high gain for Si H [MATH] x-ray laser is discussed.
