Abstract
A new theoretical model for the equation of state of deuterium is proposed. It is based mainly on a non linear mixing law of a molecular phase and a metallic plasma phase. This law is shown to have a large effect on the mixture EOS either with Sesame or Ross approximations for the pure phases. In addition to the non linear mixing law, a Rosslike model in which the free energy of the bare OCP in the metallic plasma phase is replaced by the free energy of a plasma of ions interacting by Yukawa potentials fits the Nova experiments fairly well, without containing any empirical parameter.
