Abstract
The soft magnetic properties of the nanocrystalline Fe-M-B (M = Zr, Hf, Nb) based alloys "NANOPERMTM" have been studied with special emphasis on the low frequency properties. NANOPERMTM exhibits high saturation induction (Bs) above 1.5 T, excellent soit magnetic properties and sufficiently small magnetostriction, simultaneously. NANOPERMTM ribbons can be produced in an Ar stream with no vacuum chamber (Ar stream technique) even it contains the M elements with high oxidation activity. The Ar stream NANOPERMTM ribbons are espected to be applied to power electronic devices such as power transformers because of their high Bs, and low core losses.
