"EXAFS pour le MAC" : A New Version of an EXAFS Data Analysis Code for the Macintosh

Abstract
"EXAFS Pour le MAC" is a standard EXAFS Data analysis package designed for the Apple Macintosh user
interface [1]. It includes all the steps of data analysis as recommended by the International Workshop for XAS standards and
criteria [2]. Its first versions were written in 1987. In order to adapt the code to the Power PC machines we have decided to
rewrite its code since 1995. New features were added to the previous versions :
- a new version of the fitting program, including modeling of hard-sphere like asymmetric model is provided. The interface
between our fitting code and FEFF models has been introduced.
-The EXAFS extraction and FFT analysis programs are linked together and automatic sequences of the whole process is now
possible. The possibility to analyse directly the effect of any change in the analysis steps to the final FFT result was used
to improve the use of spline smoothing in the determination of the atomic absorption background.
