WinXAS : A New Software Package not only for the Analysis of Energy-Dispersive XAS Data
T. ResslerInstitute of Physical Chemistry, University of Hamburg, Bundesstr. 45, 20146 Hamburg, Germany
Abstract
A new software package particularly adapted to the demands o f energy-dispersive X A S (DXAS) and time resolved
XAS experiments is introduced. Owing to the dispersive set-up and the employed measuring procedure, treatment of dispersive
XAS data requires a series o f additional steps compared to conventional XAS data reduction. WinXAS is running under MSWINDOWS® and contains some unique features in terms o f a user friendly graphical environment, energy calibration o f dispersive
XAS data and the capabilities to process a large number o f consecutive absorption spectra. Since the number o f absorption
spectra measured during a single time-resolved experiment can amount to several hundreds, W i n XAS allows to record single data
reduction steps and to apply the obtained series on each absorption spectrum of one experiment. Additionally, WinXAS contains
a large number o f numerical functions, including conventional XAS data reduction including a complete FEFF [5] interface,
smoothing, glitch removal, least-squares refinement, etc.
