Abstract
The paper summarizes the experimental
work carried out so far, involving investigations on the influence of the
absorption of the planar waveguide cover on the attenuation of the guided
modes - a phenomenon being a fundamental element of the functioning of
optic sensors based on the effect of the absorption change of the cover.
Theoretical fundamentals of this phenomenon have been discussed, a new
measurement method has been presented.
