Abstract
This paper deals with investigations concerning special
fibres of the D-type. A structure of these fibres was designed for the
purpose of making them sensitive to the magnetic field. The presented fibres
are birefringent and their polarisation characteristics change in the
magnetic field. The results of these investigations have confirmed that the
sensitivity of these fibres is two times in order higher then sensitivity of
typically used step-index fibres. The numerical analysis of the polarisation
properties of the presented fibres has also been presented.
