SMA Household-Applications from Superelastic Tooth Brush to Fully Automated Cat's Toilet

Recent trends in the application of SMA's have been to use superelasticity rather than the shape memory effect itself. With the exception of medical advices, the thermally activated shape memory is predominantly used in applications where the SMA element can perform its job within a wide range of tolerance with regards to "switching" temperature and cycling time.
