Abstract
Development of new diagnostic techniques allowed, during the past
few years, for a first series of measurements on the electrical
resistivity of heavy ion beam generated high energy density (HED)
matter. The experimental investigations have been carried out at the
HHT laboratory of the Plasma Physics Department of the Gesellschaft
für Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt. In this report we review
the results of these experiments and discuss future experimental and
theoretical work planned to be carried out within the framework of
the HEDgeHOB collaboration for precise determination of the
electrical resistivity of HED matter.
