Abstract
The aim of simulation for industry is reducing the cost of prototyping. Manufacturing of automotive parts uses thermal processes: heat treatment, welding, forging and casting. In some few applications, we succeed in having good results. But, nowadays, we cannot say we earn a lot of money thanks to simulation because the available tools are not completely adapted to our problematic and we have a large lack of data. That is the reason we work with other industries, schools and software producers.
