Abstract
Thé electronic structure of different surfaces for B2-and B19'-TiNi were investigated using the fullpotential linearized augmented plane wave method in the local density approximation. The changes of the electronic structure on the surface in comparison with bulk is analyzed in both phases. It is shown that surface electronic structures change insignificantly upon martensitic transformation. The initial oxidation of B2-TiNi (001) surface is also discussed.
