A tribute to Professor "Jack" Christian

Abstract
Jack Christian's contributions to the theory of transformations in metals and alloys are distinguished by their lasting value
and standard of scholarship. This paper is a short celebration of his far-reaching influence on the theory of martensitic
phase transformations.
