Abstract
Data on mercury distribution within the rocks and ores of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and East Pacific Rise are presented. The results are discussed from the standpoint of mercury degassing of the Earth. Materials on its modern manifestation in the Ocean are given. A comparison of mercury has been made for the present day rift and paleorift by the example of Mid-Atlantic Ridge and Ural province.
