Abstract
Blast waves produced by the burst of high explosives (HE) can be very damaging to both people and property. To reduce such damage energy - absorbing systems are needed. Water may be used to reduce blast waves parameters. The selection of effective blast reduction method when detonating explosives is presented on the base of the blast overpressure and impulse level measurements when HE charges surrounded by and in direct contact (or through gaseous gap) with volumes of water were detonated.
