Abstract
We propose a model for an electric field-driven transition fiom the ordered NaCl-type phase to the disordered phase. Such a transition might be a prototype of charge disordering transition observed in Pr1-cCacMnO3. We assume the lattice-gas model and hopping conductivity of charge carriers. The solution of this model, performed by the Monte Carlo method, demonstrates that considerably high electric field can disorder well-ordered phases. The comparison with the data for charge disordering in Pr1-cCacMnO3 shows that required fields are much too high. We analyze the obtained results trying to determine a possible scenario for conductivity in Pr1-cCacMnO3.
