Abstract
The problem of shear wave propagation in an anisotropic material with different shear modules in two perpendicular directions is considered. The wave is supposed to be propagation in the direction normal to the axes of anisotropy. A flat layer of finite length which is perpendicular to wave movement direction is cut from the medium and turned for some angle. The energy of the wave reflected and directional distribution of energy in the wave passed depend on the length of the cut layer and the angle of turn. It is shown that a certain combination of these parameters can increase the energy of the wave reflected and change the directional distribution of energy in the wave passed.
