Abstract
The general principles of shock-wave consolidation and the problerns arising from the explosive processing of super-hard materials are considered. The results of numerical analyses and experiments are presented, these include sample pre-heating. This heating allows a wider range of material properties. Some of the technological aspects of impulse explosive hot-vacuum welding of polycrystalline and ultra-dispersed diamonds by detonation are discussed. Fractography of the diamond fragment chips is studied and the results of X-Ray analysis of the lattice parameters are given as well as the dimensions of areas with short range order.
