Abstract
The electrical and thermal conductivity are determined in linear response theory taking into account the transport of free electrons and hopping between bound electron states within a partially ionized plasma model. The theory is applied to dense fluid hydrogen as well as to aluminum plasma. Possible mechanisms for the observed metal-nonmetal transitions are discussed.
