The role of electron correlations in organic conductors

Abstract
This is a parochial talk, based on my memory of events over a number of years. Thus I still remember the rather excited tone of Denis Jérome, telling me on the telephone twenty years ago that he had at last observed superconductivity in his organic compound. This was only at 1 K and under pressure ; but the field soon developed into a new country which Orsay helped to conquer. This is what we are celebrating today.
