Abstract
In the next parabolic power plant generation the water will be evaporated directly in the absorber pipes. The two-phase flow behaviour in horizontal heated pipes with direct steam production has been investigated under steady state conditions in several projects in the past. In this paper the influence of changing conditions on the flow behaviour (flow patterns) and the obtained wall temperatures will be presented. The dynamic reaction of the flow patterns will be investigated concentrating on the stratified flows because this flow pattern is critical due to the partial wetting of the pipe. The change of the temperatures and the dynamic pressures after changing the entrance conditions will be presented.
