The problem of ductile-brittle transition of amorphous alloys
A.M. GlezerInstitute of Physical Metallurgy, I. P. Bardin State Scientific Centre of Ferrous Metallurgy, 105005 Moscow, Russia
Abstract
The phenomenon of ductile-brittle transition of melt-quenched iron-based amorphous alloys that occurs at room temperature after appropriate heat treatment is considered. A structural model founded on the relaxation growth of microdiscontinuities which initiate microcracks under external stresses is suggested.
