The tendency to miniaturized inductive components is combined with low winding numbers and consequently with high initial permeabilities. In order to extend our present material program (µi = 5000 - 15000), a new material with an initial permeability of μi ≥ 20000 was developed. The level of initial permeability strongly depends on the anisotropy of the ferrite material. It can be controlled by the chemical composition and the production process, e. g. the powder preparation and the sintering conditions. For a commercialized production of ferrite cores with μi ≥ it is necessary to use available processing equipment to stay cost-effective.
