Abstract
We present a systematic X-Ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism study performed at the L2,3-edges of the rare earth in on the R2Fe14B series (R = rare-earth ). The aim of the present work is to test the validity of the current models proposed for account the XMCD L2,3-edges spectra, in irttermetallic R-M compounds. In particular, the correlation between the XMCD signals and the spin polarization of the 5d empty states of the rare earth, i.e., the conduction electrons in the R-M interaction, which tunes the magnetic properties of these systems.
