Abstract
At the BW3 beamline (HASYLAB/Hamburg) we have studied the Fe L and Cu L emission spectra of FeO, α-Fe203 and La2CuO4, respectively, using different orientations of the single crystal samples with respect to the polarization of the exciting radiation and to horizontal and vertical positions of the x-ray grating spectrometer. The energies of the exciting photons were chosen at characteristic structures of the absorption spectra. Depending on the excitation energy and the geometrical configuration the spectra show characteristic Lα/L1 intensity ratio and changes in the shape and position of the ha emission bands. The Lα emission of La2Cu04 could be completely analyzed with respect to the polarization of exciting and emitted radiation and is discussed on the basis of a model calculation, of Tanaka and Kotani [J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 62, (1993) 464].
