Effect of Ageing on TWME in CuAlNi Alloy

The effect of ageing time on the precipitation process in the Cu-Al-Ni alloy and changes in the martensite structure were studied in this work. It was found that with the increase of ageing time the change from 18R to 2H martensite takes place and causes the decrease of the TWME. Prolongation of ageing causes that only the 2H martensite remains in the alloy and its presence together with the occurrence of large γ2 particles is the reason for the observed growth of the TWME.
