Abstract
In photodynamic therapy the light dose received by the whole tumor volume is critical for obtaining a good response. It is therefore necessary to know the light penetration in the target tissue. When performing photodynamic therapy with hematoporphyrin derivative, the 630 nm red light is used. The aim of this study was to determine the optical penetration depth at 630 nm on biopsy samples from digestive tissues by means of an original device.
