Abstract
SAXS data for a series of five acid-catalysed freeze-dried silica gels are analysed within a mass-fractal model. It is found that the correlation length decreases with prolonged aging. The microstructure of the freeze-dried gels compares well with what is found for wet gels and aerogels.
