Abstract
The effects of lateral confinement and strong magnetic fields on the energy levels and optical spectra of magnetoexcitons in a disk-like parabolic quantum dot are considered. For a QD which in the absence of a magnetic field B is in the strong confinement regime, a crossover to the weak confinement regime can be realized when B is increased. Energy spectra and dipole matrix elements of optical transitions in different confinement regimes are found.
