Abstract
Specific heat measurements on Per2 [M(mnt)2] compounds with M=Pt and Au are reported. An anomaly was found in the Pt compound, ascribed to the magnetic ordering of the Pt(mnt)2 chains as in the Spin-Peierls transition. The comparison of the two compounds enabled a precise determination of the magnetic specific heat. Results above the transition temperature are better fitted by the Ising model rather by the Bonner-Fisher calculations on the Heisenberg model.
