Abstract
We present an experimental study of the scattering of Lamb waves reaching the edge of an aluminium semi-infinite plate immersed in water. Firstly the investigated plate is with a right-angle end section, then with an end section of various angles. For different Lamb modes the amplitude of the radiated bulk wave in the water 1s recorded versus the angle of observation. In order to explain these patterns, we propose a simple mode1 which deals with the Lamb wave displacements inside the plate. The agreement between the theoretical diagrans and the experiisental ones is discussed. It 1s found quite good for the right angle end section and for small end section angles.
