Abstract
At very low frequencies, the acoustic wave propagating in a duct with yielding walls can present three types of behavior : subsonic, attenuated or supersonic. The second zone where attenuation occurs is shown to depend on the mass of the walls and on the size of the cross section of the duct, while the amplitude of the wave in the supersonic zone is influenced by the rigidity of the structure. The control of the effects of the parameters could lead to industrial applications.
