Abstract
Frequency modulation of diode lasers is the basis of the most of interferometric measurement systems. A new approach to the problem of the frequency tuning of diode laser radiation is presented in our paper. It consists in action of the alternate strain, stipulated by ultrasonic (both bulk and surface) waves, on an active region of a laser diode. The interaction models are offered and the theoretical analysis of the obtained experimental data has been carried out.
