Abstract
We have measured the magnetic susceptibility ( and
specific heat (c
of single crystals of Pr3RuO7.
The susceptibility indicates a Neel transition at T
K, with an unusually mean-field specific heat anomaly. While
indicates that all intrinsic moments order at T
, a
Schottky-like anomaly in c
suggests that there remains a
small crystal-field splitting between a magnetic and non-magnetic
state of the rare earth ions.
