Laws of the acoustic emission during martensitic transformations in TiNi-based alloys

Abstract
Analysis bas been perfomied on the regularity of acoustic emission produced during thermoelastic martensitic transformations in TiNi based alloys. The analysis resulted in the conclusion about two types of acoustic dissipation of energy in the course of martensitic transformations. The plastic relaxation of microstresses is significantly dependent on the mechanical properties of the alloys - the yield stress and stress of the martensite shear. The dynamic relaxation of energy is due to the dynamic features of martensite boundaries and depends on the kinetics of martensitic transformations.
