Abstract
The aim of the study is to validate the Lemaitre Chaboche damage model in the explicit finite element code EUROPLEXUS. Tensile tests have been performed on smooth and notched specimens of 304L type stainless steel to determine Lemaitre and Chaboche damage model's parameters at strain rates from quasi-static to 150 s-1 with different triaxiality ratios. The procedure of parameter's identification is based on finite element calculations. The damage parameters are identified through the experimental measurements. We present the results of an experimental investigation of the impact resistance of Inox 304L plates and compare these results with numerical simulations. The goal of the study is to determine the magnitude order of the perforation energy.
