Abstract
We present Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) absorption data performed in bulk Propylene Glycol (PG) and its oligomers Poly(Propylene Glycol) (PPG) in order to study the OH stretching vibrational region. Furthemore depolarized light scattering (DLS) data in the polymers PG and PPGs in the bulk state and confined in silica 25 Å porous glasses with modified and non-modified inner surface, are presented. The goal is to study how the confinement influences the mobility of H-bonded liquids with identical chemical composition but different steric hindrance and to show the main role played by the active surface sites (Si-OH groups), in the sense of H-bond, on the reorientational dynamics.
