Abstract
This paper gives a concise derivation of the quantum-diffraction term at the order n5/2 in the expansion with respect to density n of Helmholtz' free energy F for Coulomb plasma within the effective-potential approach. Starting with the many-body cluster expansion of F, it is shown that this particular term comes from the irreducible part of the screened three-particle Slater sum in the third cluster integral.
