Abstract
The microstructure of a Ti-48Al alloy solution treated in the α-field is influenced by the cooling rate.
The study of cooling curves permit us to determine expenmentally the CCT diagram, and to show that the higher the
cooling rate the lower is the temperature of the α → γ transformation start. The evolution of parameters that
characterise the lamellar structure has been determined according to the cooling rate. When this one increases,
α2-volume fraction increases, width of α2 and interlamellar spacing decrease. The values of yield stress also
increased and were all the less scattered as the structure became more perfectly lamellar.
