Charge ordering in organic conductors

Abstract
The charge ordering phenomena in the organic conductors, (R1,R2-DCNQI)2M, have been studied by 13C and 15N NMR spectroscopy. The π electron ordering in (I,I-DCNQI)2Ag and Cu d electron ordering in (CD3,CD3-DCNQI)2Cu, which are evidenced by splitting of the NMR line, show quite different behaviors in the charge profile and the order of the transition, reflecting the different driving forces. The analysis of Knight shifts revealed that the π spin susceptibility dominates the d spin susceptibility in the π-d hybridized metallic state.
