Abstract
The purpose of the present paper is to point out the crucial role plaid by the reactor in solar chemistry. In a first part are reminded a few general data related to the different types of chemical reactors usually considered in chemical reaction engineering, including modelling. The main additional difficulties induced by concentrated solar energy are then described. They are of scientific and technical natures. The third part is an attempt of classification of the main chemical reactions usually considered in association with solar energy. One of the conclusions is that in many cases, new specific reactors have to be imagined.
