Abstract
Barkhausen noise signal was measured as a function of ageing time at various temperatures in Inconel 600 (1600) alloy to evaluate the material state nondestructively. Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) were used to correlate ordering and microstructural change to the observed change of the Barkhausen noise. Three stage Barkhausen noise changes with ageing time at given temperature are explained by the change of anisotropy energy and domain wall pinning conditions due to the formation of Short Range Order (SRO). Long Range Order (LRO) and carbide precipitation, respectively.
