Measurement of grain oriented electrical steel properties using IEC 404-3 standard

Abstract
Since 1996, a new release of European standard. EN 10-107, concerning the rated properties for grain oriented electrical steels indicates that their magnetic properties can be establislied using cither classical Epstein (IEC 404-2) or S.S.T.(IEC 404-3) tests. Consequences arising from these two different ways of assessing the steel are pointed out and discussed.
