Abstract
The purpose of this article is to study the effects of a non-colinear magnetic field and mechanical stress upon the behavior of non-oriented iron-silicon sheets. The evolutions being analyzed concern the magnetic losses and the magnetization work under sinusoidal flux density and at an exciting frequency of 50 Hz. Results show a consistent increase in losses along with a flattening of the magnetic characteristic with respect to the stress regardless of the direction being considered. Moreover, a strengthening of the initial anisotropy present within the sample is noticed ; an axis of difficult magnetization, located near 70°, also appears. The use of the Bertotti model as a means of predicting total losses demonstrates a good agreement with the experimental results. The method that enables studying the evolution of hysteresis and excess losses, based on this model, does however require some refinement.
