Abstract
Organic germanium compounds have been extensively applied in medicine as tonics. In this paper, the local
atomic structures in two organic germanium compounds, carboxyethylgermanium sesquioxide and polymeric germanium
glutamate, are determined by using XAFS technique. The structural parameters including coordination number and bond
lengths are reported, and possible structural patterns are discussed.
