Dislocation-Obstacle Interactions and Mechanical Properties of Intermetallics

Abstract
The mechanical properties of materials are discussed for different configurations of the obstacles (in series or in parallel), different dislocation-obstacle regimes (exhaustion or crossing) and different obstacle strengths (one type of obstacle or a spectrum of obstacles of different strengths). The models proposed for Ni3Al are compared in what concerns the yield stress anomaly and the partial reversibility of the flow stress upon a decrease of the temperature.
