Abstract
We give here the quantitative expression of the thermoacoustic power resulting of the interaction between acoustic waves and a heat source. According to a stationary acoustic field superposed to a mean flow in a cavity containing a heat source (Rijke effect), the thermoacoustic power and an efficiency criterion of the interaction are explicitly given from the analysis of the unsteady heat transfer between a hot wire and a weakly disturbed laminar flow at high Reynolds number.
